BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is requiredPrior experience as a heavy equipment operator is preferred, but we will train all qualified applicants.COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Operates equipment in a safe and efficient mannerUtilize proper Personal Protective Equipment for the assigned tasks and report damaged protective equipment and unsafe conditions to Terminal SupervisorUnderstand and comply with Kinder Morgan and Total rules and policiesMust be willing to work day or night shifts/overtime hours during the week or weekend hours and holidaysIn order to perform essential duties, regular work attendance is requiredMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rulesCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ECT:
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's driver license and have willingness to use personnel/company vehicle in course of employmentMust pass and complete safety training/certification as required by customer to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder MorganMust obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test along with a Hair follicle test.Must be able to complete/pass DISA/ISTC background check and testing for entrance into refinery.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heightsRegularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.Ability to handle evolving conditions.Ability to identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.This position consists of outside work and adverse weather conditions may apply.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
A minimum of eight months to one year experience in Heavy equipment especially D9 dozers, D10, track hoes, etc.
