In this role, you will perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. **Key Responsibilities** + Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles. + Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. + Use diagnostic tools and onboard computer systems to identify issues. + Complete work orders and documentation using fleet maintenance software. + Review and address issues reported in Driver/Operator Vehicle Inspection Reports. + Conduct safety inspections and respond to emergency breakdowns. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards. **Working Conditions** + Physically demanding role requiring lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 60 lbs. + Work may be performed indoors in a shop or outdoors in varying weather conditions. + Exposure to noise, fumes, grease, and vibration is common. + May require working in tight or awkward positions. **Qualifications** + Valid driver’s license required. + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics preferred. **Benefits** + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + Flexible spending accounts + Short-term and long-term disability + Life insurance + 401(k) retirement plan + Career advancement opportunities **How to Apply** To be considered, please complete an application at: 👉 www.careers.wasteconnections.com Search for the **Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Milford, NE** position and follow the instructions to apply.
