At least 1 year of experience doing maintenance on diesel trucks is preferred. . **Scheduled Work Week: Monday – Friday.** **Mon-Thurs:** **Swing Shift** 2:00pm - Until work is finished. (Generally **12hrs** .) **Friday:** **Early Start Day** ~9:00am - Until work is finished. (Generally **8hrs** .) . **Starting pay is $** **26+** **DOE.** **Guaranteed Overtime:** Time and a half after 40 hours a week! . **Competitive Compensation:** + $150 Monthly Tool Allowance + Annual Safety Bonus + Generous Paid Time Off + Growth opportunities- We pride ourselves on promoting from within + We offer benefits that can be customized to meet your family's needs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental voluntary plans, wellness programs, and online discounts. + 401K retirement with company match. + Company Paid Life Insurance . **RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Inspects and repairs vehicles withdiesel engines + Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C,hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc. + Interprets diagnostic test results accurately + Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system + Collaborates with other dieselmechanics + Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly + Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely + Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon + Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards + Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards **.** **REQUIREMENTS:** + **Valid Driver’s License** with a **clean driving record (Required)** + **Experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair** + Providepersonal tools. + Class B CDL **OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required.** + Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. + Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English. . **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:** + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair. + Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. + Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
