Healthcare Supply Chain Senior Analyst

Job Summary

The Senior Supply Chain Data Analyst will provide data-driven support for system-wide projects. Reporting directly to the Data Analytics Team Manager. This role involves integrating project goals with analytic expertise to ensure accurate data analysis. The Senior Analyst will also consult with Supply Chain users on the design, development, and implementation of analysis techniques and data mining. They will act as a subject matter expert on data mining within Peoplesoft and all other third-party systems used.

​Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze medical and surgical products to identify savings opportunities.

Support cost savings initiatives by presenting data analysis to physicians, clinicians, and administrators.

Provide analyses to assist with strategic decision making.

Utilize third-party systems, such as Healthcare IQ, Vizient tools, and Optum, to identify savings opportunities.

Manage data flow and results from price benchmarking systems.

Interpret and present data in a comprehensible manner to all audiences.

Analyze business proposals to determine value and support decision-making processes.

Categorize items to support strategic sourcing category management efforts.

Assist in developing and issuing cost analysis spreadsheets and summaries for the Contracting department.

Coordinate the loading of new and updated product pricing information into the Peoplesoft information system.

Collaborate with suppliers offering rebate incentives to correctly allocate funds to the appropriate hospitals and departments.

Monitor supply utilization trends and identify items driving costs upwards.

Track and measure post-implementation savings at the department level.


 

Qualifications

​Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. 7+ years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.

3+ years of experience in an analytical role.

Experience in healthcare analytics and healthcare supply chain.
 

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

Tableau and SQL knowledge is preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Strong presentation skills.

Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Effective communication with a wide range of departments and individuals at all levels within the institution, including physicians and clinicians.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated analytical skills, including problem understanding, solution development, and good judgment.

Experience interpreting and displaying data for diverse audiences.

Ability to manipulate and organize large data sets and interpret implications for the entire system. This requires prior experience with databases and an ability to merge files.

Strong project management skills, including the development of project parameters, goals, and timelines.

Data management skills, including the creation, modification, and merging of computerized databases for a variety of studies. These tasks require extensive experience with Peoplesoft, Excel, and Access.

Knowledge of supply chain processes and strong analytical/organizational skills.

Creativity, self-motivation, and the ability to plan and initiate new activities.
 

Working Conditions:

Hybrid working schedule, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Business hours, with travel required to hospitals as needed.
