Places orders and expedites all purchase orders to keep delivery dates in line with organization deadlines.. + Maintains knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of the Materials Management information system, as well as a working knowledge of the Finance practices and procedures that interface with the Materials Management function. 3. + Works with other departments to coordinate material handling and set up time frames for delivery and distribution of products for projects. + Stays up to date on the performance and duties of other Materials Management personnel --the Receiver, the Supply Clerk, and the Purchasing Coordinator -- so that during periods of their scheduled or unscheduled absence the Expeditor can act as the back-up for each position. + Maintains product knowledge about stock and non-stock items and shares this information with Materials Management customers. May keep departmental MSDS files and maintains the Safety Manual. + Performs other duties as requested.
