Hillcrest Hospital's 3 Main, 12-bed unit is an all-private acute and chronic disease management floor which primarily provides medical, surgical, and telemetry nursing care to adult, geriatric inpatient and observation patients. This department is one of the main Heart Failure units at Hillcrest and is also involved in a patient empowerment research study geared toward heart failure management, specializing in a wide range of diagnoses such as cardiac/post-catheterization, heart failure, thoracic, vascular, renal, falls/weaknesses, diabetes, respiratory disease, types of infections, and GI bleeds. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support and customer service to patients, families, visitors, and other caregivers, in order to promote and uphold positive patient experiences.

**A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30 a.m. -- 3:00 p.m. with rotating weekend requirements.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
+ Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
+ Implement and monitor patient care plans.
+ Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
+ Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
+ Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
+ Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ One year of experience in a customer service-related role
+ Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ College degree
+ Microsoft Office experience

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
+ Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
+ Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
+ Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
