Health Unit Coordinator - ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine

Cleveland Clinic's G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is a dynamic, dual-service unit comprised of an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown and a 24-bed Internal Medicine unit. The patient population spans a broad spectrum of acute and chronic conditions, including head and neck cancer, complex surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and multi-system organ failure. Caregivers are cross-trained to float between both services, providing a unique practice environment that blends high-acuity internal medicine with critical care-level surgical management. **A caregiver in this role works nights| 7:00pm-7:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED + 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role + Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + College degree + Microsoft Office experience **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. + Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. + Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision. + Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $18.25 Maximum hourly: $24.95 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
