Akron General 5100 Urology, GU/GYN & Plastics Unit cares for a variety of medical patients with roughly 50% urology, 25% plastics and 25% med/surg. 5100 is GSV-certified and Akron General one of 8 hospitals in the country with such certification, thanks for the 5100 unit. With a teamwork approach to care, this unit has a great culture with a low turnover rate. **A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:00PM - 10:30PM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform administrative and clerical duties. + Conduct an in-person greeting and welcome newly admitted and transferred patients to the unit. + Communicate with and facilitate communication between patients, families, other departments and healthcare team members regarding patient care. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Provide concierge service to assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Troubleshoot equipment. + Respond to patient call lights. + Keep nursing stations clean and organized. + Complete mandatory education and training. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED + One year of experience in a customer service-related role + Prior job experience with typing or computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Microsoft Office experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
