At Samworth Brothers Supply Chain, our people are the heart of our business, and our Health & Safety team is at the forefront of ensuring our workplaces are safe, healthy, and compliant. We’re currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Technician to join our Oak Meadow and Bristol teams — someone who thrives on improving systems, engaging teams, and building a strong safety culture. As our H&S Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Health & Safety Manager in the day-to-day delivery of our safety management system. You’ll be the first point of contact for incident reviews, lead site inspections and audits, and support managers and supervisors with expert coaching and guidance. You’ll also:
Investigate incidents and identify improvement opportunities. Compile monthly performance reports and spot trends with meticulous attention to detail. Ensure that departmental inductions and training are delivered to a high standard and are compliant with the training LMS Develop and implement safety campaigns and improvement projects. Ensure Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are current and effective. Deputise for the H&S Manager when needed. NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent EQF Level 4 qualification). Associate or Technical IOSH membership (or working towards). Experience in warehousing, or transport (ideally within the food industry). Knowledge of key hazards: workplace transport, racking, MHE, contractor control, LOTO, etc. A genuine desire to help everyone work safely and go home safe. A strong investigative instinctive mind to explore everything with meticulous attention to detail The ability to communicate and listen at all levels and encourage collaboration across the team. A proactive mindset and the ability generate and take on new ideas and follow them through to them being embedded within
