Astria Health is seeking a Health Information Management Technician to join our team! This is a Per Diem position.
What you get to do every day!
As the Health Information Management Technician, you will be responsible for for processing and maintaining the medical record for completeness and accuracy in a timely manner. The HIM Techs work to fully protect the privacy and security of all patient’s medical records regardless of format, to ensure that confidentiality is maintained in accordance to Washington State and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act. You will:
Preps, scans, indexes and analyzes records within 24 hours of discharge while assuring the highest level of quality possible. Process Birth Certificate Registry to WA State within required timelinesMaintains integrity of the Master Patient Index by reviewing for duplicate medical record numbers, completes medical record number merges as appropriate and upon request from other departments.Analyzes charts for completeness and assigns deficiencies for provider completion per department policies.Continuously operates and maintains office equipment including computers, copy machine and fax machine. Release patient protected health information according to state and federal guidelines as required.Performs special project tasks as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.
Required Qualifications and Education.
High School Graduation or GED. Oral and written fluency in the English language.Preferred Qualifications and Education.
