Health Information Management Supervisor
Additional Information About the Role BJC is looking for a Health Information Management Supervisor. The role will oversee the team that manages legal releases for medical records and myChart proxy process. There is also an opportunity to manage projects across the enterprise. This is a hybrid role that requires being on site 1-2 days a week. Must live in greater St. Louis area. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor oversees the HIM Team and directs the daily operation in maintaining the confidentiality of patient health information. This position sets priorities for the team and oversees the associated work processes, to include disclosure management, document imaging, record completion, documentation management, records integrity and transcription services. This position also serves as a resource to internal and external customers on HIM tools and work processes. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Supervises activities to ensure health information management functions remain compliant with internal and regulatory requirements (i.e., BJC Corporate Compliance, TJC, CMS). Aligns resources to achieve daily operational goals within the work unit and in partnership with other departments. Communicates and collaborates with health information staff, organizational leadership and key stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness. Serves as a subject matter expert on work processes and standards; is a super user of health information applications and provides support to staff, leadership and key stakeholders. Analyzes data and reporting; identifies trends and opportunities to improve efficiencies; supports facilitation of and resolution for change.
