Note: Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level **Job Summary** The Supervisor of Health Information Management (HIM) Operations oversees the HIM Department's operations and staff. They assist the director in monitoring quality and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation standards, and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations. **Essential Functions of the Role** + Assists the HIM Director by supervising the HIM Department operations. Monitors the department budget and coordinates with vendors. Provides cross coverage for staff vacancies and time-off. Serves as a resource person for HIM topics. + Monitors quality of department functions and productivity. Assures compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations. Seeks ways to improve area operations. + Participates in interviewing, hiring, evaluating and facilitating the development of new employees. + Participates in performance evaluations. Counsels employees regarding performance or disciplinary action in accordance with established personnel policies + Outlines and conducts effective training and orientation programs for all assigned personnel. **Key Success Factors** + Certified Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred. + Proficient computer and work processing skills. + Exceptional critical thinking skills. + Ability to examine errors and problem solve. + Proven customer service skills. + Ability to work effectively with a variety of customers; to include physician, nurses, and patients. **Belonging Statement** We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported, and that our workforce should be reflective of the communities we serve. **QUALIFICATIONS** + EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification + EXPERIENCE - 4 Years of Experience As a health care system committed to improving the health of those we serve, we are asking our employees to model the same behaviours that we promote to our patients.
