Astria Health is seeking a Health Information Management, Manager to join our team!
This is a full time day shift position with hours 0800-1630.
What you get to do every day!
This role manages health information management (HIM) processes, including security, compliance, and integrity of the medical record at multiple hospitals/sites. Collaborates with cross-functional departments to implement HIM process improvements that align with organizational objectives and establishes key metrics to track the performance of strategic initiatives. Ensures compliance with all accreditation and governmental regulatory agency standards regarding the organization's maintenance of patient health information.
Oversees, monitors, and directs personnel in day-to-day operations of the HIM Department to assure the functions are consistent with the goals and objectives of the organization. Manages the personnel/resources of the department to achieve the department’s short and long-term goals and objectives in conjunction with the HIM Director. Responsible for the provider Incomplete record process for both clinic and hospital providers Acts as Co-Chair of Forms Committee. Attends meetings in place of the HIM Direct Communicates effectively with providers and other hospital staff regarding chart documentation and reimbursement issues.Participates in continuous quality improvement and customer service. Oversees and monitors implementation of Compliance activities that affect the Health Information Management services Responsible for gathering reports and data for federal and state regulatory agencies, Medical Staff and other departments as requested Acts as a backup when clerical staff are out of the office to ensure tasks are completed. Performs other duties as assignedCollaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization High School Graduation or GED. Associates degree from a Health Information Management program required Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) required.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
Supervisory experience in Health Information Management preferred
