About this Job
LSU Health School of Dentistry Baton Rouge Comprehensive Dentistry Department seeking motivated applicants for the position of Health Information Coordinator 1-3.
These positions are in a Career Progression Group.
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Health Information Coordinator 1, 2 or 3) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Pay is dependent upon applicants’ qualifications. There is an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.

+ Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws
+ Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ - Receives and ensures that all referral paperwork submitted is processed.
+ - Enters all the patient data in WinOMS, Axium, and one drive.
+ Advise patients on insurance specific guidelines and notify them of non-covered services.
+ - Collects payments from patients for services.
+ Completes encounter slips for billing- Secure all payment deposits
+ - Ensures the scheduling of all follow up visits- Assists in reviewing accoL1nts receivables and clearing out reports as needed-
+ Assists with obtaining medical clearance from outside medical doctors, track clearances assuring approval was received as needed.
+ Communicates well with diverse populations of patients, faculty, students, and staff
