Health Informatics & Information Systems Assistant

Job Summary: The Health Informatics & Information Systems Assistant plays a key role in supporting the operational and strategic initiatives of the Health Informatics and Epic Information Technology (IT) team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the advancement of clinical systems, streamline communication, and enhance the use of health information technologies across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

•    Provide direct administrative support to the Vice President of Health Informatics and Vice President of Information Systems 

•    Monitor and manage email communications, ensuring timely follow-up on unanswered messages to maintain effective communication flow 

•    Manage scheduling and meeting logistics 

•    Triage, summarize, and track Epic support requests for the Health Informatics Department  

•    Assist with general project management tasks, including coordination of timelines and deliverables, for both the VP Health Informatics and VP Information systems  

•    Assist drafting and formatting training materials, including tip sheets and workflow documentation 

•    Conduct research on health informatics topics and emerging best practices 

•    Support report generation and data summaries to inform decision-making 

•    Collaborate closely with the Epic IT team to learn and support multiple Epic workflows

•    Maintain compliance with the organization’s confidentiality policy in accordance to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

•    Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures 

•    Other duties as assigned

•    Potential to pursue Epic certification as a credentialed trainer or certified analyst to further support the Epic team, if needed 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

•    High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred  

•    Demonstrated organizational and communication skills 

•    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with data and documentation tools 

•    Ability to learn new technologies and workflows quickly 

•    Prior experience in a healthcare or IT setting is a plus
