HEALTH INFORMATICIST - CUPID
**Hours of Work :** 40 **Days Of Week :** M-F **Work Shift :** 8X5 Day (United States of America) **Job Description :** **Purpose** The primary purpose of the Health Informaticist position is to research, design, program, test, install and maintain assigned programs and systems. Using evidence based practice, the Health Informaticist contributes to patient safety by developing clinical protocols, documentation templates, and decision support rules in collaboration with physician, nurses, and other clinicians. **Education** ​Bachelor's Degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, or other related field. Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics preferred. Equivalent work experience in a comparable healthcare environment with other healthcare degree may be acceptable. Graduate from accredited school of nursing or allied health professional degree preferred but not required for candidates with formal informatics training and/or compelling professional experience. **Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)** Graduate from an accredited college or university Licensure as a Registered Nurse OR licensure/certification in other applicable clinical field in the State of Texas preferred - if licensed, maintains current licensure Certification in Epic Cupid application strongly preferred. **Related Work Experience and Other Skills** • High level of analytical ability is required to provide solutions for efficient use of the EMR to improve the quality and safety of patient care. • Must be available to travel occasionally for training and certification in Epic modules. • Equivalent work experience in an acute care environment can replace the educational requirement • One or more years of experience implementing and supporting electronic record applications is preferred • Maintain professional and collaborative approach in all situations. • Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information consistent with MHS policies. • Must be available travel to all MHS sites to conduct meetings and clinician training sessions as required. • Prior work experience in a nursing or other clinical environment is highly preferred. • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to engage and communicate with clinicians, and drive convergence among clinicians in work flow and clinical content development. • Experience in participating or leading performance improvement initiatives using an evidence based methodology. • Work Experience: Two or more years of experience implementing, supporting, and/or optimizing electronic record applications is preferred.
