Job Description
The Health and Wellness Supervisor will oversee programming that supports refugee, immigrant, and migrant (RIM) communities in areas related to health and wellness. This role provides direct supervision to the Health and Wellness team, ensuring effective program development, implementation, and compliance with grant and contract requirements. The Supervisor will also build and maintain partnerships to strengthen client self-sufficiency, while representing IRC Wichita in local forums, coalitions, and initiatives focused on health and wellness.
Major Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with program teams to assess health, mental health, and community resource needs and identify service gaps.
• Support staff in navigating local health, dental, and mental health systems to increase client access to care.
• Organize outreach events and workshops providing culturally and linguistically appropriate health and wellness information.
• Partner with the Safety and Wellness Manager to build relationships with health providers, mental health centers, and specialist care services.
• Partner with the Safety and Wellness Manager to connect with local immigration attorneys.
• Represent IRC at community meetings, projects, and initiatives that advocate healthcare access.
• Assist in creating culturally and linguistically appropriate outreach materials (messaging, videos, etc.) for refugee, immigrant, and other communities.
• Participate in program meetings, staff development, and regular check-ins with leadership.
• Foster a collaborative team environment and ensure integration of client-centered services.
• Conduct regular 1:1 staff meetings (weekly or biweekly).
• Ensure compliance with all programs, contractual, and reporting requirements.
• Oversee data collection, reporting, and impact measurement for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assign Community Connection cases.
• Maintain and supervise the Community Connections spreadsheet, including contacting waitlisted clients for urgent needs.
• Conduct monthly case audits to ensure fidelity and quality of case management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for funders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in health care, public health, social work, or related field preferred
Work Experience:
• At least two years of experience providing social services or health programming for vulnerable populations. Experience working with refugees and immigrants to navigate American social/human service systems preferred.
Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:
• Ability to handle complex and sensitive cases and to work effectively with clients who have a wide range of psychosocial, protection, health, immigration, and criminal justice issues.
• Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully in cross-cultural environment.
• Solid organizational skills with ability to multi-task, set priorities, manage time and meet deadlines. Flexibility and ability to work well under pressure is essential.
• Well organized, self-directed, and highly motivated; ability to communicate and work effectively with collaborative partners, the community, and clients in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Spoken fluency in English, and another language spoken by IRC target population preferred.
Working Environment:
• A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
• May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
