Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is looking for an experienced Head of Project Managers to lead the Technical Support Spares Services Agreement (TSSSA) projects in North America. This role involves managing project manager resources, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and developing the PM team to handle project complexities. The ideal candidate will inspire and persuade others with their vision and expertise.  This position would ideally be based in Chicago, IL or Charlotte, NC but open to other locations in the central or eastern time zone in proximity to large airports due to the amount of travel.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Establishing and running the Project Management Office with the objective of ensuring all projects are delivered using a ‘best-practice’ Project Delivery Approach. (Ensuring that the projects are delivered within the agreed scope, time, budget and quality.)Advocates for both the customer and for Siemens and seeks to find win-win solutions. Maintain a central repository of lessons learned that are considered when bidding, calculating and executing future projects.Hire, train and develop project managers for increasing complexity. Support their learning, incremental empowerment and ownership of results.Manage and motivate PM’s as individuals and a team to ensure a network of support surrounding them with expertise and mentorship.Responsible for continuous improvement of project management methodologies, standardization across projects and implementation of lessons learned. Ensure project resources have the correct and ever-evolving toolsets and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped to deliver successfully.Proactively coordinating with people at all levels of the organization, facilitating conversations, workshops and trainings that unpack complexity and opportunities for cross-functional problem solving (internal and external).Collaborate intensely with peers and colleagues to establish clear lines of responsibility and authority between groups and departments.Collaborate cross functionally to shape the targets and support that projects receive in order to fulfill customer expectations.Provide strong leadership in a matrix environment to promote a culture driven by best practices and lessons learned, managing interrelated projects and programs to ensure successful delivery.

To thrive in this role, you have:

Bachelor’s degree, Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management in the rail/railroad industry,Knowledge and experience in railroad applicable law and regulationsExperience in managing teams in matrix organizationDemonstrable entrepreneurial performanceAbility to travel 30-40%Setting you apart from others would be Project Management certification and experience in service projects.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Chicago, IL is $169,600-$199,400 and in Charlotte is $154,100-$181,400 and the annual incentive target is 20% of the base. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on the budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
