About the Role  

The Head of Threat Detection & Response role will manage & enhance the Incident Response and Cyber Threat Intelligence functions as we continue maturing our overall Information Security capabilities. In this critical role, you will oversee a team of incident responders and analysts responsible for protecting our organization against evolving cyber threats through proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and actionable intelligence. You will partner internally and externally to mature these areas and build scalable processes that meet the needs of a large-scale enterprise.  

This position is based at an Albertsons corporate office in Pleasanton CA, or Boise ID.

You will:  

Lead and develop a team of cybersecurity technical experts and analysts who perform investigations, incident response, automate security workflows, monitor the dark web, and produce threat intelligence to drive action.  Refine incident response processes and playbooks to ensure consistent and effective handling of security events.  Drive the development of security automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team functions.  Tune detections to meet emerging threats and reduce false positives.  Oversee threat intelligence operations, ensuring actionable insights are providers to internal customers across the company.  Build relationships with external security communities and information sharing groups to enhance threat awareness. 

 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in a management role.  Proven track record managing security incidents and maturing threat intelligence processes.  Strong understanding of the threat landscape, including attacker TTPs and defensive strategies.  Deep knowledge of security technologies such as email protection, endpoint detection and response, security information and event management platforms, firewalls and more and the ability to guide the appropriate configuration of these tools.  Experience collaborating with key stakeholder groups such as major incident management, privacy, and litigation.  Experience building or managing security automation and orchestration solutions.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Relevant certifications such as CISSP or GCIH strongly preferred.

The salary range is $ $173,690 to $225,830 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). [If applicable:] Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.
