Head of Supply Management - Mobility Customer Services

Your primary responsibility will be to lead all aspects of category management for our Customer Services Business Unit in North America. This strategic leadership role involves developing forward-thinking category strategies, driving supplier innovation, and ensuring sustainable value creation across our supply chain. Most importantly, you will mentor and lead your team of 8 category managers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while addressing the challenges of our expanding business portfolio.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives in the US and Canada and drive value creation across various categories including rolling stock maintenance, spares, software, and infrastructureLead business-aligned negotiation strategies with major suppliers and lead strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, sustainability goals, and supplier enabled innovationGrow a high-performance team of 8 category managers and provide training on second/in-sourcing programsCollaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to implement innovative cost reduction strategies while maintaining or improving quality and performanceSpearhead AI use case implementation in strategic procurement teams to enhance decision-making, automate routine tasks, and identify optimization opportunitiesDrive continuous improvement within the category management function and pioneer the integration of AI enabled technologies into procurement processes specific to the rail industryMonitor supply market conditions and drive productivity improvements through cost & value engineering, and strategic implementation of digital and AI technologiesIdentify and handle procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, and claims throughout the service lifecycleLead cross-functional cost-out initiatives in our service backlog, identifying opportunities for standardization, process optimization, and value creationServe as a key strategic partner to the CS business unit leadership team, translating business objectives into actionable category strategiesTo excel in this role, you should have:Over 10 years of experience as a Procurement Professional, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in category management and the ability to travel approximately 30%Proven track record of delivering significant business impact through strategic procurement initiatives incl. second sourcing, design to cost, cost and value engineeringDemonstrated success in leading cross-functional cost reduction initiatives and hands-on knowledge of the US domestic rail service marketsExcellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to quickly establish trust and confidenceInternational experience in collaboration and cross-functional skillsKnowledge of AI applications in procurement and supply chain management as well as the ambition to learn and quickly adaptAdvanced negotiation skills and commercial acumen

The salary range for this position in Lexington, NC, is $172,800-$233,800, and the annual incentive is 20% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
