About the Role

As the Head of Strategy and Insights, you will support the Product Development Division in shaping the future of Qatar Airways’ onboard experience by leading a high-performing, in-house research, strategy, insights and PMO team. You will be driving strategic clarity, data-driven decision-making, and innovation across key product domains including customer experience strategy and frameworks, cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and connectivity, onboard service, and food & beverage.  You will deliver deep insights, rigorous analysis, and forward-looking recommendations to inform product innovation, roadmaps and investment decisions. The role ensures that every initiative is grounded in rigorous market intelligence, passenger insights, competitive benchmarking, and commercial viability.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:


Strategic

Manages the development of inflight product and customer experience strategies, including its long-term visions with relevant SMEs by synthesizing market trends, customer feedback, competitive analysis and financial modelling.Provides data-driven recommendations to inform product roadmaps, investment prioritization, and resource allocation.Oversees the generation and synthesis of market intelligence, passenger research, and competitive benchmarking to inform strategic decisions and product roadmaps.Establishes frameworks for evaluating and prioritizing product initiatives based on strategic value, feasibility, and impact.Builds and establishes a best-practice PMO function within the team to support strategic planning, governance models, and performance tracking across all product development activities.Supports in the review of divisional OKRs and KPIs and evaluate alignment required within teams against the group strategy.

Mentors and scale a high-performing team through coaching, empowerment, and performance management to elevate organizational decision-making, effective delivery of key projects and strategic rigor.

Operational


 

Maintains and supports scalable frameworks for product and customer experience planning, prioritization, and execution.Manages end-to-end product strategy process, ensuring objectives, key results, and milestones are aligned and documented.Manage the creation, monitoring, and reporting of product and strategic project roadmaps ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.Implements structured governance processes to monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure accountability across strategic initiatives. Manage and support the operational reviews and steering committees with executives to evaluate progress against strategy.Monitors and mitigates risks / potential providing timely resolution.Integrates customer insights into day-to-day product development and decision-making processes.Drives the integration of customer insights and product data into regular product development cycles and decision-making processes.Develops and maintains dashboards to monitor KPIs and performance against strategic goals and Support the implementation of data-driven processes for opportunity sizing, investment analysis, and project evaluation.Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product owners, Finance, Technical and Operational) to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.Develops and lead a Strategy, Insights and Project Management team, creating an operational culture focused on high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.Continuously scan the external environment for emerging trends, technologies, and consumer behaviours that could influence future product strategy.

Management & Leadership
 Nurtures the team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. This includes setting performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and supporting professional development.Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing clear, data-backed recommendations and influencing decision-making at the highest levels. Institutionalize strategic thinking and analytical rigor across the Product Development department through training, frameworks, and knowledge sharing.Establishes the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
