JOB OVERVIEW
Responsible and accountable for commercial performance of Sector client coverage in Korea. This includes driving the Country’s Sector P&L targets, steering risk/ return, new client onboarding and cross-buy across product offerings. Working closely with Korea Country Head and Sector team to develop and execute country sector strategies in line with overall ING WB strategy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESLeverage in-depth understanding of overall business and banking needs in the country to identify growth opportunities and drive differentiation of customer value proposition vs competitors.Develop country sector strategies in alignment with Country Head and relevant stakeholders, ensuring it is aligned with overall ING WB strategy, the global sector strategy and to the APAC WB strategy presented to and approved by the ING MBB and socialized with the supervisory Board. Lead and direct the effective implementation of country sector strategies to achieve financial and business objectives while ensuring sound and prudent business management in accordance with statutory, regulatory and Group governance requirements.Work with counterparts in other countries and with ING’s sector and product experts when and where appropriate to ensure timely dissemination of information and to maximise cross-selling opportunities.Familiar with all relevant ING software and databases including, inter alia, CONCUR, IRIS, VORTEX.Establish and strengthen ING’s market presence and enhance its profile through effective internal and external communication.Manage Dynamic Plan – emphasizing profitable growth in line with global WB strategy.Lead the client coverage team to commercial excellence and growth mindset through effective coaching for both hard skills and soft skills.Ensurethe coordination for multi-industry clients (cf. chaebols) covered by several sectors.Set the tone from the top and communicate effectively about ING WB global, regional and local as well serves as a role model for all aspects of conducive and pro-active behaviors as well as well regulatory compliance. Ensure the coverage team optimize revenues and client relationship both on-shore and off-shore, using the entire network of ING. Conversely, ensure the coverage team develops local relationship and revenues for ING overseas clients active in Korea. Leads the local strategy in that respect. Through C-suite contacts, support the coverage team in developing senior-levelrelationship and generate high-value added mandates.KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong commercial skills and credit skills.Ability to balance strategic direction with external regulatory changes to lay out the rightpriorities for teamsAbility to translate WB and APAC Sector’s vision and strategy into specific direction for the country sectorExperienced, qualified banker, capable of engaging in fully independent activities including origination, structuring and execution of complex transactionsMin. 10 years’ relevant banking experience in an international banking institution with successful track recordClient focused with existing senior contacts in the industrySuperior client relationship, marketing presentation and sales skills in addition to extensive knowledge of products and marketsExcellent team player and one who exhibits a high level of motivation and driveStrong track record in people management and high level of soft skills for managing his/her team and relationship with all stakeholders (internal and external)Good analytical capabilities, presentation and organisational skillsExcellent written and spoken English
