Head of SAP Solutions

 

 

We have a new opportunity to join our Technology team as Head of SAP Solutions on a permanent basis in London.

 

Reporting to the Director of ERP and with responsibility for leading a team of 4 direct reports, you’ll manage the implementation and optimisation of SAP systems within Penguin Random House. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee all aspects of SAP processes, working to ensure they align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with experience of managing large scale SAP transformation projects and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

The role

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Play a pivotal role in our organisations digital transformation, leveraging your expertise to deliver innovative and effective SAP solutions. Oversee the entire SAP lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Provide expert guidance on SAP best practices and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams. Manage and develop the team of SAP professionals, driving project success and providing clear direction, mentorship and support. Support the Director of SAP Excellence to develop a strategic roadmap in line with PRH priorities. Manage end-to-end SAP solutions, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and timeline adherence. Ensure that all SAP BAU projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Support the handover of new integration like SAP Concur which will be used for expense management, travel, and invoice processing. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enable stakeholders to utilise Signavio for process improvement. Engage with stakeholders at all levels to communicate project goals, progress, and benefits, addressing any concerns effectively. Ensure seamless integration with existing financial and ERP systems. Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new SAP systems and processes. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practice. Stay current with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices to drive innovation within the organisation. Develop and implement training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. Conducting regular team meetings to review project progress, discuss challenges and align on goals and objectives. Manage the workload of the team ensuring areas of responsibility are understood, knowledge share becomes second nature and appropriate documentation is in place.

 

What you’ll bring

 

Essential criteria:

In-depth knowledge of SAP modules and their integration points, including the latest SAP technologies, trends and best practice. Previous experience of working on SAP transformation projects, ideally within a commercial environment. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. Experience of working with SAP suppliers and service providers. Previous team leadership experience. Proven expertise in any of the following: SAP ECC, Signavio, SAP S/4 HANA and BTP Adaptable and curious mindset with exceptional analytical and problem solving capability. Knowledge of Agile methodologies to support quick and strategic business process improvements.

Salary

 

The salary for this opportunity is c.£100,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits.

 

Hybrid working

 

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from the Embassy Gardens office in London 2 days per week, with a willingness to travel to our site in Frating, Colchester on occasion.
