The Head of the Product Line “Land Live Training Equipment” provides strategic and operational leadership for the functional, operational and delivery elements of Engineering. He/she owns the Technical/Engineering responsibility of the assigned Product Portfolio throughout the entire lifecycle.

Your Mission

Provide engineering leadership and act as an ambassador that supports the culture of ownership, result-orientation and the development of individual skills and organizational capabilities.

Deliver products/projects in line with the priorities set by the Business Line and according to the agreed costs, timeline and objectives. Provide professional input for bids.

Ensure technically sound execution of the development activities, including proper validation, qualification and documentation of products/systems, in close collaboration with the IVVQ department.

Deploy and further develop/tailor tools, processes and practices applicable to the Product Line to ensure an effective and efficient working environment. Promote cross-Product Line harmonization where it’s beneficial.

Ensure a professional life cycle management of the LLT Equipment Product Portfolio.

Actively contribute to the Product Policy as well as to the make / partner / buy and footprint strategy and ensure its execution.

Maintain an up-to-date workforce planning in line with business expectations, thus

-> ensuring staffing of project teams (bids, customer projects and product development projects) with the right skill set,

-> ensuring an effective and efficient life cycle management (product care including obsolescence management).

Develop a high performing team, ensure needed skills/capabilities of individuals and the team and foster collaboration in and beyond the own team (Ca. 25 employees, thereof all direct reports and ca. 3 experts)

We look forward to

Completed studies in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or in a related technical field.

Very good understanding of Engineering standards, practices and processes.

Several years of technical and managerial leadership experience within an engineering environment, with excellent people management skills and the ability to influence and challenge others.

Team player and strong communicator who is able to motivate people and get them excited about your ideas.

Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
