Job Description

The Head of Performance Management will lead the transformation of performance management practices, integrating innovative technologies, behavioral science, and agile methodologies to drive a high-performance culture. Reporting into the Head of Total Rewards, the individual in this Executive role will champion a high-performance culture that supports business aspirations, employee growth, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving work environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Management

Oversee goal setting, feedback, and performance evaluations processes.Align performance practices with strategic objectives.Design performance management to be continuous, real-time, and integrated with core HR and career development processes.Introduce modern feedback mechanisms.

Strategic Alignment & Execution

Drive the strategy and execution of our performance management initiatives linked with other key HR processes and business objectives.Strategic thought leader that proactively responds to changing business needs and objectives, while considering HR implications of business or people related decisions and actions.Establish KPIs & standards, monitor program performance, and make data-driven recommendations to drive a continuous improvement culture.Further enable leadership to champion high performance leadership and execution.

Change Management

Serve as a change catalyst, embedding performance culture into the fabric of the organization through storytelling, practices and leadership modeling.

KEY SKILL AREAS:

Influence & Collaboration

Lead and influence senior leaders. Drive results through cross-functional collaboration.

Ability to build coalitions across diverse stakeholder groups, including workday product management, technology / digital, HR & Business leadership and peer partners involved in the successful execution of the performance management program. operations, and innovation teams.
 

Data Analytics / Technology

Use data to evaluate program effectiveness.

Experience with predictive analytics, AI-driven performance insights, and continuous listening or improvement tools.
 

Strategic Thinking & Alignment

Navigate complex situations with analytical and financial acumen.

Align programs with evolving business strategies.

Demonstrated ability to anticipate future workforce trends and proactively evolve performance strategies.
 

Program Management

Plan and execute performance global initiatives.

Champion continuous improvement.

Experience leading agile program teams and iterative performance design cycles.
 

Leadership

Provide strategic direction and coaching to key leadership and HR partners.

Communicate effectively using storytelling and clear messaging.

Track record of building inclusive environments that foster feedback and growth.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:  

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)

10+ years of relevant experience

Expertise in performance management or enterprise HR program management

Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills

Proven ability to manage multiple programs and influence at all levels

Experience with agile HR / process improvement, design thinking, or behavioral economics

Familiarity with platforms like Workday and / or similar Human Capital Tech Stacks

Background in progress strategic human capital management approaches

Experience leading performance transformation in a large complex organization

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $170,255.00 - $200,300.00
