We're seeking an exceptional Sr. Manager of Business Development to serve as the Head of Managed Care Contracting & Operations. This leader will be responsible for building and driving the national strategy for payer partnerships, contracting, credentialing, and value-based performance management. This role is central to accelerating One Medical’s growth through innovative value-based care models and scaled full-risk arrangements.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and execute One Medical’s national payer contracting strategy, with emphasis on value-based and full-risk arrangements across Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial, and duals populations
- Lead national payer relationships, including network strategy, deal structuring, negotiation, and ongoing performance oversight with major national and regional health plans
- Oversee credentialing operations, ensuring timely onboarding, compliance, and alignment with operating and clinical workflows
- Drive payer performance management, including attribution optimization, contract performance analytics, revenue integrity, and issue escalation/resolution
- Partner closely with Clinical, Operations, Market Leadership, Data/Analytics, and Finance to operationalize contracts, ensure accountability, and drive outcomes in cost, quality, experience, and growth
- Serve as a strategic voice and advisor to the President and executive team on payer trends, risk models, regulatory shifts, and growth opportunities
- Build and develop a high-performing team capable of scaling contracting and payer operations nationally
- Represent One Medical and Amazon Health externally with payer executives, industry partners, government entities, and professional associations
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
- Knowledge of distribution networks and channel P&Ls
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
- Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent
- Experience negotiating VP-level contracts with channel partners and agencies
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Senior Leadership

- Experience in health care vendor management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $193,700/year up to $262,000/year. The National base pay for this position ranges from $174,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
