Head of Lifting

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Head of Lifting. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis with 6-days per week / 8-10 hours to be based at site. The role will report to Sr. Project Manager/Technical and will be part of multi-billion LNG expansion projects both onshore and offshore. He/She will act as Technical Advisor/Subject Matter Expert for all Lifting Operations.

Working Schedule: 6-days per week / 10 hours per day


Job Purpose: Projects Focal Point for the Lifting discipline, expected to guide and support projects teams with extensive knowledge on lifting operations, safety protocols and best practices. Review and analyze critical lifting operations, facilitate the implementation of effective safeguards to support projects execution scopes. Maintain a robust and effective assurance process for the Lifting discipline within the MP/NFPS Projects, to ensure compliance and consistency to company standards. Review, consolidate and update MP/NFPS Lifting Standards and best practices. Reduce Company Strategic Risk exposure by leading HiPo Lifting Incident Investigations, identify causal factors and root causes, recommend corrective actions and manage the mitigations implementation close out within the overall Projects. Main focal point for the interface with the Operations Lifting Department (projects brownfield scope executions).
Key Job Accountabilities: Reports to Execution Support Manager (Major Projects). Focal Point on the Lifting discipline for all Projects, and Projects main focal point for the Operations Department on all lifting related matters (lifting equipment, personnel and procedures) executed in brownfield. Consolidate and manage a resilient assurance process for the Projects execution in compliance with the MP Lifting Code of Practice (onshore/offshore). Maintain and update the MP Lifting Code of Practice for the Projects. Interface with relevant internal/external stakeholders for optimization and harmonization of the lifting requirements. Support PMTs on the lifting resources allocation, selection and recruitment process. Formally endorse the recruitment of lifting resources within the Projects (onshore/offshore). Support PMTs on Risk Screening and Formal Risk Assessment related to critical lifting operations (greenfield and brownfield scopes). Introduce and manage effective communications protocols to share relevant lessons learned and best practices for consistent implementation among Projects Teams (lifting discipline). Consolidate and Standardize onboarding protocols for Projects lifting resources with focus on compliance, consistency and efficiency. Maintain a robust reporting system for lifting operations within the Projects. Identify trends and vulnerabilities, propose and implement mitigations and improvements across the Projects organization. Conducts risk based evaluation of complex technical issues that may have significant impacts to overall project execution. Manages the timely delivery of technical deliverables and issues resolutions. Promote Lifting Safety Leadership, by supporting a Proactive Safety Culture and implement  industry leading Safety best practices and initiatives, including extensive use of Life Saving Rules. Maintain a learning environment for turning lifting safety visions to improvements plans.


Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering
OPITO - LOLER Competent Person

Knowledge and/or Experience: 15 years of experience in Lifting discipline and demonstrated experience in managing the lifting equipment & lifting operations compliance scopes (onshore, offshore). Extensive experience in lifting equipment and appliances inspections, certifications and verifications. Broaden knowledge of lifting operations management. Knowledge of International Standards (API, ASME, BS, DNV, ISO, LOLER) and experience in regulatory compliance. Knowledge of Company Operating Standards & Procedures is advantageous. Experience on establishing and managing compliance and assurance processes in accordance with Corporate requirements and international standards (lifting discipline). Experience as Lifting SME, Technical Authority (Lifting Operations) within Oil & Gas Operators organizations is preferred.
