About the Role

Being responsible for legal counselling in Russia (and Belarus) in the GEM BU. The Head of Legal for Russia (and Belarus) will be a member of the leadership team of the Russia (and Belarus) and be the first point of contact for the Head and the leadership team of the Area. This role entails managing a team of lawyers on site and in LOCs as applicable.The responsibility covers all areas of law, including contract law, employment law, law on distribution, sales and marketing of pharmaceutical products, legal questions related to the access to markets, pricing and reimbursement as well as data privacy questions and corporate law matters.Russia is home to a factory, legal support of which will equally fall under the responsibility of the Head of Legal for Russia (and Belarus). The role does not cover management of intellectual property rights of the company (patents, trademarks and others), nor compliance. The candidate is expected to be able to work in close co-operation with other corporate and support functions, such as IP, regulatory, compliance, data privacy, medical and quality assurance. Support of R&D is not within the scope of the role, while some support of R&D activities in the area will be required.Serves as a key advisor to the Russia & Belarus Country Manager.

High level advice and management

Establishes organization for handling of contractsEstablishes contacts and networks ensuring efficient legal counselling on key prioritiesManages legal matters, such as litigation, government enquiries, complaints and others.Ensures optimal application of resources between geography and business areas for the company.

Developing ways of working ever more efficiently balancing routine assignments against more complex and high profile matters.Identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement changes that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the team.

Complexity

Capability to work on complicated regulations in multiple jurisdictions.Capability to work in a matrixed organization towards the business and within a GGC organization with both regional and global working teams with potentially overlapping responsibilities.

Sanctions

Provide legal advice and guidance on sanctions-related mattersWork closely with the Takeda sanctions team to understand risks and measures to be implemented in Russia related to sanctions

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Master of Law degreeGood mastering of Russian and English8+ year of professional experienceComprehensive experience in the pharmaceutical industryKnowledge of rare diseases and specialist care markets is an advantage.
