Head of Legal, Asia Pacific

As Head of Legal for the Siemens Mobility business in the Asia Pacific region, you will be based in Singapore and responsible for providing legal counsel and support on all matters affecting the operations in the region, which currently comprises 9 countries.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Global General Counsel of Siemens Mobility, you will be responsible for managing and developing the regional legal team, as well as overseeing the engagement of external legal counsel, in close alignment with the Global General Counsel. As a trusted business advisor in Singapore and Asia Pacific, you will work closely with local and regional business partners to provide legal and strategic guidance on corporate matters, commercial contracts, and contract management, implementing the regional business strategy from a legal perspective and addressing any upcoming legal topics. You will lead the regional legal team in Asia Pacific, managing case strategies, legal risk mitigation, and the implementation of effective legal processes. Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal matters relating to bids, projects and corporate topics in Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, and Indonesia. Responsibilities include legal budget management, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of legal operations within your area of responsibility.

What do I need to qualify for this role?

Excellent academic record in law and fully qualified to practice law in your home country or another jurisdiction. At least 10 years of experience in various legal roles within Siemens or at international law firms/legal departments of large multinational companies. Detailed knowledge of foreign legal systems and a strong understanding of legal and economic correlations, with familiarity in areas such as corporate, antitrust, litigation, regulatory and intellectual property laws. Proven experience in leading and managing a legal team. Strong ability to think strategically from a business and legal operations standpoint. Exceptional intercultural and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and contract management matters effectively. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages would be an advantage. Collaborative and cooperative mindset to work effectively within the global Siemens legal team.
