The Head of KAM at DHL Global Forwarding Canada will lead a team of Key Account Managers to drive strategic growth and enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves developing and executing account strategies, building strong relationships with key clients, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing high-value accounts. You’ll be supported by a global team of professionals with diverse experience but also have the freedom to work independently.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic LeadershipDevelop and implement the KAM strategy aligned with DGF Canada’s business objectives.
Lead the KAM team to achieve revenue growth and profitability targets.
2. Client Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and challenges.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
3. Team DevelopmentMentor and develop the KAM team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
4. Market Analysis & StrategyAnalyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop targeted campaigns for key accounts.
5. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with operations, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to address client needs effectively.
6. Performance MonitoringSet and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the KAM team.
Prepare and present reports on account performance and growth initiatives to senior management.
7. Contract NegotiationLead negotiations for contracts and service agreements with key clients.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all client interactions.
Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 8-10 years of experience in account management or sales within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Strong understanding of logistics operations, market dynamics, and customer needs.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Good understanding of market challenges and opportunities in the forwarding industry (strong product knowledge: air, ocean, customs, warehousing, distribution)
