Position Description:
We are currently looking for our very first Head of Global Planning for our Supply Chain department. The Head of Global Planning will own the end-to-end planning ecosystem (IBP/SIOP, demand, supply, capacity, and scheduling) to align sales forecasts, inventory targets, and operational execution into a unified business plan. The role centralizes and standardizes planning processes, integrates scenario planning, and drives performance through KPIs across global sites—ensuring the right product, at the right time, at the right quantity, without surprising the shop floor or Finance.
The position will report directly to our Director of Supply Chain and will have a small team of demand planners, production planners and master schedulers reporting to them. It will be based in our Uppsala HQ.
Main Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Governance
Establish and lead the global IBP/SIOP cadence; align demand, supply, capacity, and inventory strategies.Define the future planning group structure and operating model; centralize planning roles and standards.Own planning policies (time fences, lot-sizing, safety stock, MOQ, scheduling horizons).
2. Demand & Supply Planning
Oversee demand forecasting and accuracy improvement (collaborate with Sales/Marketing).Own Master Production Schedule (MPS) design, capacity alignment, and constraint management.Ensure material readiness via kitting and replenishment planning; set inventory targets and coverage.
3. Execution & Scheduling
Translate MPS into feasible production plans; set short-term scheduling rules and priorities.Drive shop-floor readiness and adherence; ensure material availability and coordinated changeovers.
4. Analytics & Scenario Planning
Lead scenario modeling for demand/supply variability and risk; set response playbooks.Track and improve planning KPIs: forecast accuracy, plan adherence, OTIF, inventory turns, capacity utilization.
5. Tools & Data
Own the planning toolset roadmap: ERP/MRP, SIOP platforms, forecasting and analytics tooling.Define data standards, master data governance, and KPI frameworks.
6. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
Own the continuous improvement backlog for the planning process.Identify planning risks (e.g., data gaps, process bottlenecks, single points of failure) and define mitigations.Benchmark against best practices and evolve the process as the business matures.Qualifications
Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or related fieldPreferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field3+ years of people management experience leading professional teamsFull professional proficiency in English and SwedishProven SIOP Expertise: Ability to build, implement, and sustain a robust SIOP process is essential. This includes designing cadence, governance, and integration with business planning.Strong background in global planning processes, ERP/MRP systems, and forecasting tools.Great interest in establishing solid processes and continuously improving planning maturity.Strategic Leadership: Ability to design and implement global planning governance.Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of IBP/SIOP, ERP/MRP systems, forecasting tools, and analytics.Change Management: Skilled in driving global process standardization and stakeholder alignment.Analytical Skills: Strong capability in scenario modeling, KPI tracking, and risk mitigation.Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience with Lean methodologies.Apply today!
