Amazon MGM Studios is the home for talent, creating and producing Original films and television series for a global audience. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video, which is available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video.
The Head of Digital Marketing – Film sits within the global Digital Marketing team for Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video. This leader is responsible for leading the team that develops and executes smart, data-driven, highly creative and inventive digital and social marketing campaigns for all movies, across both Theatrical and Streaming distribution. This person develops these marketing strategies globally with direct ownership of multi-territory strategy, campaign development and execution, upholding a high-bar for innovation, results and operational excellence. They are responsible for all digital campaign strategies and key beats, inclusive of experiential activations, major launches, AR/VR executions, social strategy, analytics reporting, talent social, filmmaker relationship management and more. Additionally, they own global rollout and execution of Amazon MGM Studios' digital presence as the studio expands its theatrical marketing and distribution footprint internationally.
Reporting directly into the Head of Digital Marketing for Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video (Movies, Series and Brand Social), this leader is a pivotal owner and collaborator across marketing globally, ensuring the highest standards for consistency and quality are maintained to drive moviegoers to theaters on theatrical films and drive viewership and attract new customers to Prime Video on streaming originals.
The optimal candidate for this role will have experience in successful team management, owning integrated marketing campaigns across digital, media, and social channels globally, as well as the hands-on management of deep global platform partnerships. They are able to fluidly shift from analytical discussions to strategy to operational to creative to logistics, with multi-territorial knowledge and expertise. They serve as the key point of contact for multi-platform digital marketing campaigns globally across all internal and external stakeholders, so their strategic judgment, creative acumen, operational excellence, awareness of industry trends, attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to think big must be robust. This leader must be able to present to and maintain relationships with filmmakers, key talent, senior executives, distribution partners, and exhibitors, while simultaneously managing their team and the single-title movie marketing campaigns to the highest levels of success.
Key job responsibilities
Multi-Territory Marketing Leadership & Strategy
- Coordinate directly with International marketing teams across EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and other key territories to align on campaign strategy, creative adaptation, and market-specific execution
- Oversee the development of territory-specific social and digital content that balances global brand consistency with local market nuances
- Navigate complex, multi-territory projects with strategic global vision, managing competing priorities and ensuring cohesive execution across time zones and cultural contexts
- Establish frameworks and best practices for international campaign rollout, including phased launch strategies and market-specific KPIs
- Lead multi-territory localization strategy for all film marketing campaigns, ensuring cultural relevance and market-specific resonance across diverse global markets
Global Digital Marketing Ownership
- Own end-to-end digital marketing strategy that extends beyond social to encompass digital media, influencer partnerships, experiential marketing, and paid media coordination
- Exercise independent judgment in building strategic partnerships to develop and execute multi-market media campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes
- Determine optimal digital media mix strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels, making strategic recommendations that can significantly impact box office performance and overall film success
- Collaborate closely with Media Planning teams to ensure social and digital strategies are fully integrated with broader media campaigns, optimizing budget allocation and channel synergy
- Develop comprehensive campaign frameworks that account for the full marketing lifecycle from awareness through conversion, tailored to both theatrical and streaming distribution models
Specialized Digital Lifecycle & Social Channel Expertise
- Serve as the organization's expert in digital and social marketing, with deep specialization in platform dynamics, algorithm optimization, community management, and emerging social trends
- Manage the inputs and cadence of overall film campaigns, orchestrating the timing and sequencing of creative launches, influencer activations, paid media pushes, and community engagement initiatives
- Oversee specialized campaign execution across multiple budget tiers for both Theatrical and Streaming releases, adapting strategies based on title positioning and business objectives
- Guide the creation of world-class, break-through digital and social marketing strategies that support and reinforce Amazon MGM Studios in the film marketplace
- Develop inventive, strategic influencer marketing campaigns that inspire customers while driving awareness, consideration, and viewership
- Think big. Drive new ideas that lead to innovative social marketing programs, experiential events, and breakthrough activations to support launches
Theatrical Distribution & Exhibitor Partnership
- Work closely with local and international Distribution leadership to align marketing strategies with theatrical release plans, exhibitor commitments, and box office projections
- Collaborate on Exhibitor Marketing efforts, developing co-marketing programs and materials that support theater partners and drive ticket sales
- Participate in P&L scenario planning, providing marketing perspective on campaign investment levels, expected reach and engagement, and projected impact on theatrical performance
- Foster collaboration between theatrical and streaming teams to maximize overall film success, ensuring marketing strategies account for windowing strategies and cross-platform opportunities
- Coordinate with Distribution teams on market-specific release strategies, premiere events, and exhibitor relationship management
Digital Vision & Leadership
- Oversee the movies digital marketing team and manage all campaigns across Theatrical and Streaming Amazon MGM Studios films
- Raise the bar on social marketing globally. Work with international teams for implementing vision and strategy across all territories
- Oversee campaign reviews, while successfully presenting social marketing concepts and persuasive narratives for film talent and senior management
- Have a strong point of view and vision along with a clear, concise ability to provide strategic and creative direction to internal and external partners
- Create policies, procedures, best practices and formalize mechanisms that impact the broader digital department and marketing org
Business Acumen & Stakeholder Management
- Communicate with key stakeholders internally, including but not limited to PR, Media, Brand, Department Heads, Strategy Heads, Creative, Distribution Leadership (domestic and international), INTL Marketing Leadership, Cross-Functional Marketing Teams, Studios Leadership, Exhibitor Relations, and the Prime Video group as well as externally, including filmmakers, talent representatives, and partner agencies
- Build strong relationships across the organization and with external partners, earning trust through collaboration, transparency, and consistent delivery of results
- Anticipate broader business needs ahead of their arrival. Proactively work to bring solutions to senior management
- Demonstrate financial acumen in budget management, campaign ROI analysis, and resource allocation across territories and titles
Basic Qualifications
- Experience driving results through digital marketing and multi-channel campaigns
- Experience in negotiating deals in entertainment
- Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- 8+ years of team management experience
- 12+ years of relevant entertainment marketing experience with expertise across theatrical digital, social, and interactive media channels
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior executives, filmmakers, and external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
