Head of Customer Exits (Financial Crimes Operations)
**About this role:** Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Customer Exits who will design and manage the end-to-end strategy and execution of exiting customer relationships to promote compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This team and regulatory focus has grown rapidly and requires a uniquely qualified leader who possesses KYC expertise, demonstrated success in strategic planning and business development, and the execution of a large complex operational unit with significant regulatory oversight. Financial Crimes Operations currently supports foundational elements of the Know Your Customer (KYC) lifecycle for all Business Groups within Wells Fargo driving consistent operational execution through centralized utilities and hubs – including customer onboarding due diligence, periodic reviews, ongoing monitoring, exits and off-boarding, and front-line monitoring coordination. This role is also known internally as a Business Execution Director. **In this role, you will:** + Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the customer exit process across the enterprise, including identification, evaluation and escalation of proposed customer exits. + Partner with Financial Crimes Risk Management to solidify risk scenarios and thresholds that would lead to appropriate customer exit + Create re-occurring presentations utilized for Operating Committee level members to demonstrate scope of customer exits and impact to the bank + Will provide day-to-day leadership for team members who are responsible for: 1) notifying Lines of Business that may have active accounts or relationship with the customer of exit decisions, 2) ongoing monitoring of account restrictions through customer exit completion, and 3) ongoing monitoring to confirm account closure is completed within required timeframes or alternative termination strategy timeframes. + Manage and develop multiple business functional areas with focus on implementing and delivering long-term strategies, policies, and process advancements for cross-functional stakeholders, and internal and external partners associated with the area of Business Execution or who are affected by its outcomes + Lead Business Execution team for assigned initiatives ensuring solutions are designed, integrated, and controlled to improve effectiveness, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate + Interpret and develop a range of policies and procedures for long-range and fundamental retooling of perspective, approach, culture, quality, relationships, operations, and capabilities + Collaborate and influence functional management to obtain resources, influence outcomes, address conflict, and ensure alignment with Wells Fargo strategies or policies and business line objectives + Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Business Execution + Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy **Required Qualifications:** + 8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education + 4+ years of management or leadership experience **Desired Qualifications:** + 7+ years of experience within BSA/AML Compliance and/or Operations within a Financial Services institution or management consulting agency + Previous experience developing enterprise level customer exit strategies + Knowledge of List Screening Operations, Transaction Monitoring, Trade Surveillance Operations or Negative News dispositioning + Experience in investigating and resolving complex BSA/AML cases + Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or similar certification + Outstanding leadership, communication, analytical and program management skills **Job Expectations:** + Ability to travel up to 20% of the time + This position offers a hybrid work schedule **Pay Range** Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
