We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. The Brand & Digital Experience Centre of Excellence (CoE) is where creativity, insight and technology come together to shape how the world experiences Roche. Our mission is to turn brand into experience – delivering powerful storytelling, seamless digital platforms, and campaigns that build trust, inspire connection, and advance health. The Position
As the Head of Creative Solutions, you will lead Roche’s global communications creative capability. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering the creative expression of the brand, ensuring that every campaign, channel, and piece of content is engaging, high-quality, and audience-centric.
You will oversee creative concepting, design, production, and quality control across formats and platforms. You will lead the Creative Solutions team, manage partnerships with agencies and production houses, and run Roche’s creative sandbox - where new ideas and visual approaches are tested. You will work hand-in-hand with Brand, Campaigns, Channels, and Intelligence colleagues to ensure creative work both inspires audiences and strengthens Roche’s reputation. You will report to the Head of Brand & Digital Experience and serve as a member of the CoE leadership team.
Your Opportunities
Lead Roche’s creative vision and expression, ensuring all outputs are distinctive, compelling, and audience-centred.
Translate brand strategy and guidelines into world-class creative concepts and storytelling frameworks.
Oversee creative development, production, and delivery across design, video, motion, photography, illustration, and copy.
Define and ensure standards for craft quality and creative excellence across all outputs.
Lead Roche’s creative innovation sandbox, testing new formats, visual styles, and techniques that push expression forward.
Build and maintain global templates, toolkits, and design systems in partnership with Brand colleagues.
Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and cultural relevance are embedded in creative outputs.
Manage and oversee Roche’s creative agency ecosystem, setting standards for briefs, quality, and alignment with brand.
Partner with Campaigns to bring integrated creative campaigns to life, ensuring coherence across channels and geographies.
Collaborate with Intelligence to monitor and optimise creative effectiveness (resonance, engagement, recall).
Lead, coach, and develop a global team of creatives, fostering a culture of inspiration, experimentation, and high performance.
Who you are
You are a seasoned creative leader with a passion for storytelling, design, and craft. You bring:
10+ years of experience in creative direction, design, or content production, ideally in a corporate or agency setting with global scope.
5+ years of leadership experience, including leading creative teams across formats and geographies.
Proven ability to develop and deliver creative concepts that connect with diverse audiences and strengthen reputation.
Strong expertise in visual and narrative storytelling across multiple formats (design, video, photography, motion, copy).
Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire agency and production partners, ensuring alignment and excellence.
Experience running innovation pilots to evolve creative expression within brand frameworks.
Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusivity principles in creative expression.
Excellent collaboration skills, able to partner effectively with Brand, Campaigns, Channels, and Intelligence colleagues.
A leadership style that inspires creativity, fosters experimentation, and champions both people and craft.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages are an advantage.
Location: Basel is the primary location. Additional locations may be considered at the hiring manager’s discretion.
