Job Title: Head of Contracts – Major Projects
Job Purpose
Lead the Contracts sub-team responsible for managing a multi-billion-dollar EPCC contract, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery. Collaborate with the Supply team to establish a Major Projects Contract Center of Expertise, leveraging shareholder insights and industry best practices. Support the development of a high-performing Supply/Contracts/Procurement skill pool aligned with the Major Projects vision and digital transformation strategy.
Job Context & Challenges Execution of a mega LNG capital project in a dynamic, multicultural environment High-pressure timelines and complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders Driving implementation of best-in-class contract and project execution standards Operating within a high-visibility project environment with significant capital expenditure and schedule demands
Key Responsibilities Provide commercial and contractual leadership for post-award EPCC contract management through to close-out. Deliver the Value Protection Plan and manage change orders to ensure optimal outcomes for company and its shareholders. Collaborate with Supply to prevent and resolve claims and disputes in line with company governance. Maintain strong relationships with Legal, Risk Management, and other functional managers to address contract issues and mitigation strategies. Develop post-award contract management strategies and scenarios for NFS Onshore. Coordinate contract evaluations and close-outs in accordance with company procedures. Ensure centralized and aligned contractual responses to EPC Contractors across the project. Support the Contracts Division Manager and Business Manager in claims evaluation and planning, including in-depth assessments and actionable analysis. Accelerate delivery of short-term and medium-term improvement initiatives aligned with the Major Projects digital strategy. Partner with Supply to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier talent, including the development of high-potential Qatari professionals.
Qualifications & Experience Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or Engineering Experience: Minimum 10 years in post-award contract management for multi-billion-dollar Lump Sum Major Energy Projects Experienced Project Managers, Construction Managers, or Project Control Managers are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Competencies Strong influencing and negotiation skills High business and risk acumen Experience in legal and dispute resolution is an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to draft well-structured commercial correspondence. Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities Commitment to continuous improvement and strategic execution
