Head of Content Partnerships , Amazon MX Player

About the Role - As part of the Business Affairs function, we are looking for a Partnership Lead who will be responsible to drive content & music partnerships and identify streams of non-ad based monetisation. This role will be responsible to unlock partnership on our vast originals content spread by identifying, structuring & closing monetizable content & music partnership deals across domestic and international markets to drive the next phase of our growth.

Key job responsibilities
This high-impact content manager will own the end-to-end lifecycle of content & music partnership. • Relationship Management- Build, nurture, and manage long-term partnerships with music labels, content buyers, broadcasters, telecom providers, OEMs, aviation partners and global streaming services. Serve as the key point of contact for syndication and licensing partners — from onboarding to renewals and upsell opportunities. •Content Partnership & Monetisation - Lead end-to-end monetisation of content assets across digital, TV, telcos, OEMs, aggregators, and OTT platforms. Identify new revenue streams through bundling, syndication FAST channels, telco partnerships and distribution. Track KPIs and drive revenue performance against quarterly and annual targets •Operational Execution -Own the full partnership lifecycle — from GTM pitch development, content delivery readiness, operation, sales support to contract structuring. Stay on top of pricing benchmarks & market trends, to shape strategy that balance short-term value and long-term strategic positioning. •Music licensing – Own the original music optimisation lifecycle – Manage and structure artist Deeds of assignment, structure pipeline of original music to enable label partnership for revenue optimisation & marketing of assets. •Internal Collaboration & Reporting - Partner with legal, finance, and content operations to manage delivery schedules, rights tracking, and contract lifecycle. Handle content-related infringements and initiate corrective business actions where necessary. •Market Expansion - Build a structured pipeline across India & rest of the world. Represent & evangelise the content and service at markets forums to develop a deep network of buyers and influencers. Maintain strong deal pipelines, sales forecasts, and structured reporting to leadership.

Basic qualifications
- Strategic, business driven content executive with 6–10 years of experience in content licensing, syndication, music operation or business development in the media, broadcast, or OTT space. - Proven track record in closing content sales/licensing deals with Indian and/or global buyers. - Strong understanding of content rights management, commercial deal structuring, and content economics. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. - A powerful network of decision-makers in broadcasters, music labels, telecom partners, aggregators, and digital content platforms.

Preferred qualifications
- Deep knowledge of AVOD/SVOD content dynamics and digital distribution models. - Experience with content originating from or distributed in India. - MBA or equivalent degree preferred but not mandatory. - Presence at global markets such as MIPCOM, ATF, Dubai CABSAT, etc., with the ability to convert relationships into deals. - Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally as required. - Self-starter with the ability to operate independently and manage multiple deals in parallel.
