Job Summary

The Head of Artificial Intelligence Architecture and Strategy leads the design, implementation, and governance of AI systems while aligning AI initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals to drive innovation, efficiency, and ethical AI adoption.

This leadership role focuses on developing a comprehensive AI roadmap, designing scalable and secure AI architectures, and ensuring seamless integration of AI solutions within existing infrastructures. The person in this role bridges the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, driving AI adoption to generate measurable business value while addressing ethical, regulatory, and operational challenges.

Major Responsibilities

Strategic AI Planning: Define and execute a company-wide AI strategy that aligns with overall business objectives and identifies opportunities for AI-driven innovation.AI Architecture Design: Develop, oversee, and optimize the AI technology stack including infrastructure, data pipelines, model development, deployment, and integration with IT systems.Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead multidisciplinary teams—including data scientists, AI engineers, and business partners—fostering innovation and collaboration across departments.Project & Resource Management: Manage AI projects end-to-end ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and continuous improvement of AI models and systems.Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of AI trends and emerging technologies to continuously evolve AI capabilities and explore advanced techniques such as generative AI and hybrid AI models.Ethics & Compliance: Establish AI governance frameworks ensuring transparency, fairness, data privacy, and adherence to regulatory standards like GDPR or industry-specific mandates.Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate AI initiatives’ benefits, risks, and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences including top executives and external partners.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong expertise in AI, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), with hands-on experience in designing and deploying AI systems.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or R, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.Solid understanding of data engineering, big data tools (Hadoop, Spark), and AI model optimization in production environments.Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities, able to manage cross-functional teams and complex AI initiatives successfully.Strategic thinking with the ability to align AI technologies with business goals and anticipate future technological advances.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work and explaining AI concepts to diverse stakeholders.Commitment to ethical AI practices and a thorough understanding of data security, privacy, and bias mitigation.

The Head of Artificial Intelligence Architecture and Strategy plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's AI future by transforming complex AI technologies into strategic assets that enhance operational efficiency, unlock new revenue streams, and sustain competitive advantage across industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, and manufacturing.

This role requires a blend of technical mastery, visionary leadership, and business acumen to navigate the challenges of AI implementation while fostering innovation and responsible AI usage aligned with corporate values and goals 

The typical base pay range for this role is between $250K - $338K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
