At Bunnings, we’re on a mission to transform how data and AI shape decisions, improve customer experiences, and create business value at scale. We are seeking a Head of Analytics & Machine Learning to lead this transformation, embedding advanced analytics, machine learning, and self-service BI across the enterprise.

The Role

As Head of Analytics & Machine Learning, you’ll define and execute our analytics and ML strategy, building a modern, scalable platform on Azure and Snowflake. You’ll drive adoption of Power BI self-service, operationalise ML models, and enable teams across Bunnings to use data as a strategic asset. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, ensuring measurable business outcomes while fostering a strong culture of data literacy and innovation.

You’ll lead a team of data scientists, ML engineers, BI specialists and developers, supported by partnerships with OneDigital, Flybuys, vendors, and SaaS/cloud providers.

What You’ll Do

Define and deliver the analytics & ML strategy aligned to business priorities.

Build and maintain a secure, scalable platform using Azure, Snowflake, and MLOps frameworks.

Lead the rollout of self-service analytics with Power BI, driving adoption and governance.

Translate business opportunities into actionable data products, insights, and ML solutions.

Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable, customer-focused outcomes.

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing analytics and ML team.

Ensure governance, compliance, and ethical AI practices.

Stay ahead of emerging tech and trends in analytics, ML, and AI.

About You

You are a visionary leader with a proven track record in BI, advanced analytics, and machine learning at enterprise scale. You thrive on influencing senior stakeholders, shaping strategy, and driving adoption of new ways of working.

You’ll bring:

15+ years’ experience leading data and analytics teams in complex environments.

Deep expertise in BI, ML, data platforms, and cloud ecosystems (Azure, Snowflake preferred).

Strong understanding of data modelling, SQL, data lakes, and governance frameworks.

Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to inspire teams, manage competing priorities, and lead through change.
