Head of Accident & Health Spain

Position Overview:

 The Head of Accident & Health (A&H) in Spain is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, management, and growth of the A&H business, covering both Consumer and Corporate segments. This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in a similar capacity, equipped with a profound understanding of the Spanish market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory framework. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in securing and expanding business within key industry verticals, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Financial Institutions, Consumer Finance, Leisure Travel, Retail, Utilities, and FinTech’s.

 In addition to driving business growth, this role involves managing and nurturing relationships with brokers, running targeted marketing campaigns, and providing training to enhance their ability to effectively sell our products. The Head of A&H will play a crucial role in ensuring that our corporate partners are well-equipped and motivated to promote our offerings, thereby expanding our market reach and strengthening our brand presence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans to drive sustainable growth and profitability in the A&H sector, aligning with the company's overall objectives.Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing A&H team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.Broker Relationships: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with top-tier brokers (Top 5, cornerstone, etc.), enhancing distribution channels and optimizing sales of employee-focused products such as Group Personal Accident (GPA), Business Travel Accident (BTA), and employee benefits.Business Development: Spearhead business development initiatives to secure new partnerships and expand existing ones within key industry verticals, ensuring alignment with client needs and market demands.Regulatory Compliance:  Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure all business activities comply with local and international regulations, minimizing risk and ensuring operational integrity.Product Innovation: Drive the development and launch of innovative A&H products and solutions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of both consumer and corporate clients.Marketing and Training: Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns to promote A&H products. Provide training and support to brokers to enhance their sales capabilities and product knowledge.Digital Distribution: Leverage experience and understanding of insurance distribution through digital native companies to expand market reach.Co-Creation and Creativity: Collaborate with partners to co-create product offerings based on customer profiles and needs, demonstrating creativity and innovation.Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics to boost distribution performance and inform strategic decisions.Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and events, positioning the organization as a thought leader and trusted partner in the A&H space.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the Accident & Health insurance sector, with a proven track record of success.Market Knowledge: Deep expertise in the Spanish A&H market, including a thorough understanding of key industry verticals and the regulatory environment.Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to achieve business growth and secure strategic deals in sectors such as OEMs, Consumer Finance, Leisure Travel, Retail, Utilities, and FinTech’s.Relationship Management: Extensive experience in managing and nurturing relationships with top brokers and distribution partners, with a focus on driving sales and market penetration.Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
