The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire an on-campus full-time Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach/ Assistant Cross Country Coach. The Head Men’s and Women’s Track Coach is a 12-month position that reports directly to the Executive Director of Athletics. This position will serve as the Head Men’s and Women’s Track teams and assume all duties of a head coach at the NCAA Division III level. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion depending on skills and experience. Required Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree. + Previous track coaching experience or related experience. + Equitable appreciation of all sports. + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner. + Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays. + Possess superior organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines. + Ability to recruit, retain, and maintain healthy sports rosters to meet sport sponsorship. + Ability to meet University Motor Pool driving requirements. Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience: + Experience working with student-athletes in an academic setting. + Previous NCAA coaching experience. + Previous collegiate playing experience. + Familiarity with NCAA standards, rules, and regulations. + Excellent communication and managerial skills. + Service excellence approach to customer service. + Ability to formulate and articulate policies, procedures, expectations, and practices. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, mathematical/statistical, time management, and organizational skills. + Strong knowledge and understanding of track events, training, and competitions and the recruitment of student athletes.
