Responsible for overseeing and managing all marine operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo vessels, safe navigation and maintaining compliance as per the maritime and statutory regulations.

Key Accountabilities
1.
Oversee the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo vessels2.
Monitor vessel schedules and coordinate berthing and unberthing operations3.
Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and port safety procedures4.
Collaborate with shipping lines, terminal operators, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth port operations

Implement and monitor environmental sustainability practices in marine operations6.
Develop and manage the marine services budget, controlling costs while ensuring optimal service levels, also billing of marine related services to the vessels.

Stay updated on industry best practices and technology advancements for marine operations8.
Evaluate and recommend investments in equipment and technology to improve efficiency9.
Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential maritime emergencies

Prepare regular reports on marine operations, safety records, and financial performance11

Experience & Educational Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
(degree, training, or certification required)
Master Mariner / Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required) 10-15 years proven experience in managing marine operations at a cargo port. Must possess relevant professional certifications or licences. Pilotage experience of minimum 3 years with full tonnage.
