The Position
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, The Head Football Coach is responsible for leading a program that has enjoyed a rich tradition in the PSAC and NCAA Division II. The Coach will direct all phases of the football program, by establishing and maintaining a high standard of excellence, which includes recruiting academically qualified student-athletes, scheduling, scouting, conditioning, supervising the coaching staff, managing the program budget, generating revenue, and other duties assigned. In addition, the Head Coach is responsible for making sure that all duties are executed in compliance with NCAA, PSAC and institutional regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities

•Advise student-athletes and staff of applicable intercollegiate athletic rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations.
•Evaluate performance of assistant coaches.
•Develop and conduct pre-season, in-season, and off-season training and conditioning programs for the team.
•Recruit student-athletes who can achieve athletic and academic success.
•Inform student-athletes of academic and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress.
•Retain and graduate student-athletes.
•Plan and direct athletic skill development for student-athletes.
•Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
•Work with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics on the selection and scheduling of team contests.
•Cooperate with the University Health Services and Athletic Trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
•Collaborate with Strength and Conditioning Coach to build and enhance performance for student athletes.
•Fundraise for scholarships and operational expenses.
•Work within budgetary guidelines established by the Director of Athletics.
•Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
•Attend all team practices and home and away contests.
•Monitor student-athlete academic performance and implement team, athletic department, and University measures to support their academic performance.
•Assume responsibility to student-athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Assist the Director of Athletics in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates an applicable regulation.
•Work with Director of Athletics to develop and create alumni engagement events to seek support for the team, not limited to Wall of Honor event.
•Submit monthly work schedules to the Director of Athletics or designee and comply with schedule once approved.
•Attend appropriate athletic departmental staff meetings.
•Ensure student-athletes participation in NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills programs.
•All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.Five (5) years of football coaching experience at high school, college, and/or professional level. Demonstrated commitment to promoting student-athlete welfare, academic success, and holistic development of student-athletes. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of: recruiting prospective student-athletes. working with volunteers. managing budgets. NCAA and PSAC rules and regulations. Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse populations. Valid driver’s license. Successful interview. Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful head coaching experience at the intercollegiate level. Knowledge and/or experience at the NCAA DII level. Knowledge and/or experience recruiting within the PA and Atlantic region. Successful fundraising experience.
