Head (f/m/d) Radiation Protection and EHS PET Radiopharmaceuticals Europe and India

Then come and join our global team as Head (f/m/d) of Radiation Protection and Environment, Health and Safety PET Radiopharmaceuticals Europe and India and you will provide direct oversight and support for radiation protection and environmental health and safety for PETNET Solutions and Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Siemens Healthineers Company, Molecular Imaging (MI) PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities within Europe and India as well as distribution activities within Switzerland. This position reports directly to the Global Head of Radiation Protection and EHS.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.



Your tasks and responsibilities:

As the European Head of Radiation Protection and EHS, you will be assigned top level responsibility for management of compliance and safety of PETNET Solutions and Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Siemens Healthineers Company, MI’s network of cyclotron manufacturing and PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities within Europe and India and distribution of PET radiopharmaceuticals into Switzerland or other European countries as required.You are responsible for the direct management of Regional EHS Specialists as well as direct oversight of country and site designated Radiation Protection and EHS leads and any contracted expert support.You are deputy Radiation Safety Officer for European Operations.You provide operational oversight and leadership necessary to support radiation and environmental health and safety aspects for all manufacturing and distribution activities.You lead the implementation of radiation protection and EHS programs to address applicable regulations, company policy, and industry standards, with a thorough understanding of how these apply to the business.You direct complex reporting to satisfy regulatory and corporate requirements.You report to executive leadership on radiation protection and EHS metrics and KPIs.You address requirements from regulatory agencies or corporate policies by developing/implementing required programs, or updating of existing programs to adapt to changes in regulation, policies, or operations.You lead and direct complex radiation protection and EHS projects assigned to staff.You drive corporate safety culture and ALARP principles.

Your qualifications and experience:

You have a degree/certification in Medical Physics, Radiological Health, Radiation Protection, or equivalent.You have several years of substantial professional experience in operations at a radiochemical/radiopharmaceutical manufacturing operation, with responsibilities similar to above; or in applied radiation protection in a facility which handled unsealed radioactive material.You are familiar with radioactive materials, environmental, and transport of dangerous goods regulations across Europe.You are a leader with extensive prior experience managing people and programs and you are experienced in working with and managing an international team.You have experience with the implementation of an EHS Management System.You have a thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 suite of tools.


Your attributes and skills:

You have excellent verbal and written skills in English in order to succinctly and accurately convey the technical elements of regulatory and corporate programs to others inside and outside of the organization. Any other language will be considered a plus.You display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.You have a collaborative approach to problem solving that identifies and incorporates stakeholders in the development of solutions that facilitate compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.You possess excellent organization and time management skills, and the ability to manage many work streams simultaneously.You have the ability to travel within Europe and to India as necessary to meet business needs.
