Provides injury prevention, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, first aid, and emergency care to athletes. Maintains medical documentation for student-athletes by Maryland state law. Collaborates with physicians and physical therapists for off-campus appointments, evaluation, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation, and medical clearance of athletic injuries. Manage the athletic training room, maintain comprehensive medical documentation for student athletes by Maryland state law, formulate effective therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation plans and make referrals, and communicate regularly with coaching and administrative staff. Ensures that the Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) is followed. Enforces Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines. Follows approved position statements (mandates) set forth by the Board of Certification (BOC), a national governing body.

Must have a bachelor's or master's degree from a CAATE accredited athletic training program Must be certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) If hired, will be required to apply and obtain a Maryland Board of Physicians Athletic Trainer's License
