Head, Thermal Spray and Robotics
**A Snapshot of Your Day** Are you an energetic, self-starting candidate ready to lead a team of engineers developing advanced coating and robotics applications at Winston Technology center? In this role, you will lead a team of thermal spray engineers and robotics experts. Your focus will be on the future of automation, and you will be driving advancement of our technology in thermal spray. When needed, take a hands-on approach to resolve booth and equipment issues, driving success in our manufacturing processes. **How You’ll Make an Impact** + Lead a team of thermal spray engineers and robotics specialists, focusing on the development and application of HVOF or APS coating processes. + Handle tools and programs related to ABB and Fanuc controls, including robot program creation and modification, ensuring seamless operations. + Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies. + Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce coating solutions to meet both near-term and long-term goals of our business, particularly in advanced coating technologies. + Provide technical mentorship and training to new and experienced engineers, operators, and technicians in coating process technology. + Identify opportunities for automation, develop business case for development and implementation of robots, AI to achieve desired results. **What You Bring** + Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or a related technical degree, or 15 years of related work experience. + 8 or more years of experience in the thermal spray or manufacturing industry. Currentor previous experience with leading, coaching or managing a team is preferred. + Experience in the development and application of either HVOF or APS coating processes. + Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting relevant equipment, with experience in robot program creation and modification using ABB or Fanuc controls in conjunction with offline programming. + Knowledge of mechanical testing methodologies and metallurgical examination and evaluation practices. + Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement. + Practical understanding of SAP or similar computer software, with a willingness to learn. + Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. We Specialize in the production and repair of turbine components for the 60Hz energy market, the center supports large gas and steam turbines within the Gas Services Division.
