In this role, you will be tasked with bringing Samsung’s most innovative products to life in retail. A passion for technology, merchandising, and retail execution is required to be successful in this role. Prior merchandising management experience is required in retail store locations, corporate support, or a previous history of managing/coordinating field merchandising programs. This position focuses on the overall program support of Samsung’s retail footprint across multiple partner channels. The Project Manager role leads a team of Retail Channel Operations Managers to ensure Samsung brand standards are consistent in all channels by delivering a superior customer experience. This role will give you a high degree of autonomy to apply critical thinking and analysis to determine the best course of action when managing your projects.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director and will lead the CERO Channel Managers team tasked with executing retail initiatives.
Common Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and oversee large-scale, fast-paced Retail Merchandising & Installation programs simultaneously at different points in the project management life cycle. The Project Manager will be tasked with managing the life cycle of execution projects, ensuring that deliverable timelines are met and project goals are achieved.Develop and implement standardized and scalable processes related to 3PL installation programs across multiple Samsung channel partners, ensuring efficiency and alignment with company objectives.Drive the development of new strategies that accelerate merchandising & install efficiencies with 3PL vendors to elevate levels of execution and deliver on company goals to increase ROI on Samsung’s investment in retail.Master extensive product knowledge to understand the rationale behind merchandising initiatives and programs, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.Communicate effectively with all levels of management as needed to ensure the broader organization is aware of project status, challenges, and progress.Lead the development of comprehensive reporting that provides a cohesive narrative, delivering transparency, factual data, and actionable insights with resolution plans for Installation services and activities.Facilitate installation kickoff meetings and vendor training sessions for iconic product launches and fixture rollouts, ensuring alignment with project objectives and brand standards.Build and maintain strong working relationships with Retail Account, Product, and Integrated Marketing teams along with external vendors to ensure excellent support with delivering results that align with Samsung’s vision on delivering our Best In Class product to consumers.Lead weekly project coordination meetings with Project Managers, taking comprehensive meeting notes and ensuring action items are tracked and executed effectively.Monitor Vendor Installation survey responses to ensure the quality work of vendor partners, identifying areas of concern during project execution and working collaboratively with Samsung Project Managers to implement corrective actions.Foster and build internal partnerships to improve collaboration and effective working relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts, ensuring cross-functional alignment.Become a subject matter expert on all internal processes and Samsung systems to ensure quality control is upheld throughout all project cycles.Gain familiarity with Samsung’s fixture design & methodology, leveraging this knowledge to optimize project execution and alignment with brand standards.Anticipate potential high-risk issues that could affect project execution, maintaining a heightened awareness of project status to address challenges and deliver desired results proactively.Conduct activities following Samsung’s high ethical business standards and established purchasing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and integrity in all operations.Strong negotiating skills to find the best paths forward that support both internal and external partners, driving mutually beneficial outcomes.Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to create complex documents, presentations, and reports that meet department requirements.Working knowledge of Tableau and other internal reporting systems, enabling robust analytical analysis of projects for C-Suite Executives.Skills and Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree preferred or a minimum of 4 years of related job experience without a degree.3 + years of retail experience in multi-unit management with exposure to merchandising is required.Ability to travel up to 20% or as required for business needs, ex: shakedowns, installations, and various conferences.Flexible, sensible, and strives for a ‘Can Do’ attitude in a high-paced/high-stress environment.Ability to work in a self-directed environment to complete complex tasks within deadlines and financial constraints.Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must understand contracts and be able to negotiate with external vendors.Prior experience with reading planograms for execution or project management.Microsoft Office Suite proficient expert in Excel and PowerPoint is required.Prior experience in retail operations, store management, and staffing is a plus.Necessary Skills and Attributes
