Summary

Are you passionate about safety? CHS, Inc is in search for a HazGas Safety Specialist to provide expertise in our propane businesses. This position will assist in the oversight of propane safety programs, provide technical support on safety matters to our employees, review and implement policies to ensure compliance of federal, state, and local regulations. This is an on-site position based out of WA, that will be expected to travel 30%-60% for on-site visitations.

We could also consider candidates with a location in MT or OR, where CHS Ag Retail offices are located.

Responsibilities Coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related requirements (federal, state, local, and company)Develop, lead and implement EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and proceduresConduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and publicConduct complex EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, and maintain detailed recordkeepingCommunicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environmentProperly respond to day-to-day EH&S related issues in a timely and efficient manner., including but not limited to email and phone callsKeep current on all applicable EH&S related rules and regulationsPerform other responsibilities as needed or assignedMinimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GED4+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and/or SafetyAdditional Qualifications Energy background, facility operation, and management experience Understanding of construction practices and principles Building working relationships with employees at all levels of the organizationAbility to deliver propane industry training from the Propane Education and Research CouncilBachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related fieldProficient with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to manage daily work tasks with limited supervisionPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA ClearinghousePhysical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and operate equipment is needed to inspect facilitiesAbility to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditions

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
