The Hardware Specialist is the in-store expert for all things plumbing, electrical, hardware, and paint.

Job duties:

Assist customers with household projects in plumbing, electrical, paint, and hardware. Based on customer needs, you will find and suggest proper merchandise. Provide expertise on all hardware services offered, such as key cutting, material measuring and cutting, and sharpening. Sell power equipment (chainsaws, generators, pressure washers, etc.). Educate co-workers and customers on basic products and services offered. Design and build merchandise displays to effectively market products to customers. Set planograms in hardware. Understand the flow of the retail floor to quickly assess the customer’s needs and get them to the desired product. Provide customer support for the sales and special ordering of catalog accessories to customers. Positive promotion of Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives. Possess the knowledge necessary to educate customers on where to find information about local building codes.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required. 1-2 years of previous hardware sales or related experience is preferred. Working knowledge of core plumbing, electrical, hardware, and paint products and services.
