Hardware Lab Technician

Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Hardware Lab Technician to support the fast-paced hardware development and validation by keeping complex lab environments organized, operational, and test-ready. You’ll work hands-on with lab infrastructure, hardware systems, and equipment while partnering closely with engineers, operations, and logistics teams—especially during new lab build-outs and ongoing lab operations.
What You’ll Do
-Set up, wire, and maintain lab infrastructure including power, networking, console/terminal servers, environmental chambers, and liquid-cooling equipment
-Assemble lab benches, install equipment racks, and assist with new lab build-outs
-Track, store, and manage Devices Under Test (DUTs) and lab inventory
-Coordinate equipment repairs, calibrations, and vendor support
-Program and update programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, onboard power supplies)
-Support system setup, movement, and installation of fixed and modular hardware (15–50+ lbs)
-Coordinate shipping and receiving of hardware and advance replacement (AR) units
-Assist with pallet, furniture, and equipment moves as needed
PR: $22-25/hr

Skills and Requirements
-2+ years of experience in a hardware, server, or lab environment
-Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50+ lbs
-Hands-on experience with cable installation, power distribution, and lab safety standards
-Familiarity with hand and power tools (personal-use experience acceptable, e.g. drill, screwdriver)
-Experience with wiring, soldering, crimping, and basic lab hardware troubleshooting -Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
-Experience with liquid-cooled systems and lab infrastructure
-Familiarity with 3-phase power systems
-Experience supporting hardware validation or engineering development labs
