Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer responsible for design, verification, and support of complex high-speed digital hardware products from concept through sustaining.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
7+ years of experience in embedded digital hardware design and debug
Experience designing complex embedded digital hardware products, including processor, network switch, backplane, and I/O modules
Proficiency with high-speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, and DDR SDRAM memory
Experience with supporting circuitry including DC/DC power, clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, and UARTs
Hands-on lab debug and verification experience using oscilloscopes, DVMs, and other hardware lab tools
Experience debugging and resolving hardware defects down to circuit and component level
Preferred Skills
Experience designing with components from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI, or similar vendors
Experience with analysis including derating, reliability, and FMECA
Experience performing schematic integrity checking using Mentor Valydate or equivalent tools
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) configuration control and component end-of-life (EOL) management
Experience developing schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent EDA tools
Job Responsibilities
Perform lab debug and verification of complex embedded digital hardware products from new development through sustaining
Support production operations and customer support teams to debug and resolve hardware defects to the circuit and component level
Lead and participate in root-cause corrective-action (RCCA) activities for production and field issues
Design embedded digital hardware modules including processors, network switches, backplanes, and I/O modules
Implement and validate high-speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, and DDR SDRAM memory along with supporting power, clock, and control circuitry
Conduct engineering analyses including derating, reliability, and FMECA to ensure robust designs
Perform schematic integrity checking and oversee BOM configuration control and component selection, including management of end-of-life parts
Interact with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, mechanical engineering, firmware/software, purchasing, and manufacturing operations to support product development and lifecycle activities
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
